Who Am I?

I am a professor of Computer Science at the University of Bordeaux 1.

I'm the head of the RUNTIME INRIA research team, within the Bordeaux Sud-Ouest INRIA research center. This team is part of the LaBRI, the Computer Science Research Laboratory of Bordeaux.

I'm also vice-chair of the Research and Training Department in Mathematics and Computer Science (UFR Math-Info) of the University of Bordeaux 1.

What's Up?

We are part of the Intel Many-Core Applications Research Community (MARC).

In late august 2010, I was in Ischia (Italy), attending the International Euro-Par 2010 Conference. The 2011 edition of Euro-Par will take place in Bordeaux! More details to come here.

In late february 2010, I was in Kyoto, attending the International Workshop on Peta-Scale Computing Programming Environment, Languages and Tools (WPSE 2010). My invited talk was entitled "Towards a common runtime system for multicore machines, accelerators and clusters".

In early february 2010, I was at University of Vienna for the kick-off of the PEPPHER European Project: "Performance Portability and Programmability for Heterogeneous Many-core Architectures".

In late november 2009, I was at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) in Urbana (Illinois, USA), working in the context of the INRIA-UIUC joint laboratory for petascale computing.

Our research activities about GPU computing are supported by NVIDIA through a Professor Partnership Program. Get more information about the StarPU project here!

I have recently spent two months (August & September 2008) in Japan, working with professor Yutaka Ishikawa at the University of Tokyo. This collaboration is supported by the JSPS (Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science) invitation fellowship program for research.
